5 Time Management Hacks for the Busy Gig Worker

If you’re considering entering the gig economy or taking on some side hustles of your own, you will need to learn how to effectively manage your time to stay on your A-game. Read on for more essential time management tips to set yourself up for gigging success.

    1. PRIORITIZATION IS KEY

This is the golden rule of time management. If you are a gig worker on top of having a full-time job, you can easily be working over 60 hours per week leaving you with little time for other tasks. Each day, identify the two or three tasks that are the most crucial to complete and do those first.

    2. LEARN TO SAY NO

Making a lot of commitments can teach us how to juggle various engagements and manage our time, which can be a good thing. However, you can also take it too far. At some point, you have to learn how to decline opportunities that you truly don’t have time for. Your objective should be to take on only those commitments that you know you have time for and that you truly care about.

    3. SET BOUNDARIES

Decide on times when you will only work, and times when you will spend with your family or do personal stuff. Maybe you decide you will only pick up a gig every other Saturday.

    4. EXERCISE AND EAT HEALTHILY

Numerous studies have linked a healthy lifestyle with work productivity. Similar to getting enough sleep, exercising and eating healthily boost energy levels, clear your mind, and allow you to focus more easily.

    5. FIND TIME TO BE STILL

In our go, go, go world, too many people don’t find time to just be still. As a gig worker, you can feel like you are always on the go. Sometimes it’s a good idea to make time to do nothing, to just relax.
