    Staying Productive During the Holidays

More than 100 million people will travel this holiday season. Most people save their vacation for holidays meaning an empty office and more responsibilities for those working during the holidays.  From travel plans to holiday parties and gift planning — staying productive while your mind is distracted is tough.

    How to Stay Productive

    1. Plan your time.

One of the easiest ways to combat distractions and to stay motivated is to make a plan. Prioritize your tasks and make a schedule that you can stick to.

    2. Don’t multitask.

It’s tempting to sit at your desk and get a head start on your gift shopping. When you multitask, you are likely to make more mistakes. In the end, it will take you longer to complete your tasks.

    3. Avoid procrastination.

Whether it’s gift shopping or work, procrastination adds stress to your day. Follow your plan and allow yourself time to finish important tasks.

    4. Set expectations.

Be realistic with yourself and how much you will be able to handle this holiday season. Sometimes, it’s okay to say no to a festive networking event, or holiday party. You may be tempted to attend them all, but it can be taxing on you and an unnecessary source of stress.

    5. Give yourself a break.

While it’s important to stay on schedule with your work, the holidays are a great time to relax and spend time with those you love and enjoying your time off.
