The Harris County Marriage Project is intended to understand the factors that make marriages last and those that determine marital longevity. Results from the study will serve to inform educational programs to assist newlywed couples and couples considering marriage. Field interviewers will conduct in-home assessments of newly-wed couples living in low-income neighborhoods in Houston, TX. These assessments pertain specifically to couples’ perspectives of the surrounding areas, their relationship with one another and other aspects of their lives through video interviews, computer based surveys and other means of data collection.
