A Closer Look at the CORE Team

As some of you may know, Headway in Research is our research recruitment division here at Headway. However, there is much more to us than just the Headway in Research division. Like most companies, we have multiple departments, including payroll, human resources, finance, accounting, IT and recruitment. Our recruitment is known as CORE. CORE stands for the Center for Operational and Recruitment Excellence. There are multiple groups within the CORE who work together to achieve operational and recruitment excellence, as our name states. CORE consists of our recruitment marketers, recruiters, program coordinators, account managers, program managers, operations managers and executives.

    The Interview

We want to introduce to you some of our team members to get a closer look at CORE. We spoke with some of the team members and asked them all a few questions.  You can read their answers below. The questions are:

    1. What is your position and which project are you currently working on?
    2. What is your happiest memory at Headway?
    3. What kind of impact do you hope to have on people?
    4. If you ruled the world, what would you change on day 1?
    5. What is your favorite part about working in CORE?

    Laurie Sills, Program Manager

Laurie Sills is the Program Manager for Hickory Farms, one of our retail clients. One of her happiest memories here at Headway was when a recruiter filled a really hard location in a remote area. The excitement from everyone that the recruiter found someone is so fun and contagious! She hopes to leave a positive impact on people everywhere she goes, stating, “Always having a good attitude makes a world of difference to yourself and your peers”. If Laurie ruled the world, she would try to find a cure for all cancers on day 1 and lastly, her favorite part about working in CORE is the fun work environment.

    Rachael Langry, Recruiter

Rachael Langry is a recruiter currently working on Directions Research. One of her happiest days at Headway was winning the CORE STAR award after only being here for 3 months. The CORE STAR award is given away monthly to a CORE employee who is a team player that went above and beyond the call of duty. She hopes to make an impact on people’s lives by bringing some form of positivity into their day and on her first day of ruling the world, she would establish the best group of people to assist her in doing just that. Her favorite part about working in work in CORE, once again, is the culture.

    Brooke Stevison, Recruiter

RTI International is one of our largest Headway in Research clients. Brooke Stevison is one of the many talented recruiters on that client team. Her happiest memory here at Headway is the day she won the NSDUHNinja trophy which means she was the highest performing recruiter on that RTI project.

Brooke hopes to leave a lasting impression of professionalism and positivity and she does that by uplifting those around her to help them reach their full potential. If she ruled the world, on day 1, she would make a law stating that if you are not actually on your way to work between 7am and 9am then you have to stay off the roads. Finally, her favorite part about working in CORE is the people saying, “We have an amazing group of folks here who know how to have fun while getting the job done.”

    Melissa Johnson, Account Manager

Melissa Johnson is the Account Manager for a few of our retail accounts. Her happiest memory at Headway was when she was nominated for the CORE STAR award and meeting with her team in February. “They were an awesome team and we had a great meeting!” She hopes to make a very positive and lasting impact on others. She would like for others to feel good about themselves and empowered in all that they do. As a mother, she wants her girls to have empathy and compassion for others and provide them with the gift of discernment so as they grow, they will make positive life choices. Last of all, the best things about CORE are the people and the camaraderie. Even though she works remotely, she still feels like part of the team!

As you can see, company culture and environment is a major theme for CORE employees. We hope you enjoyed a little insight into the CORE team who work hard to support both our employees and clients. Stay tuned for more employee spotlights coming your way!
